Using
24P HD to
"film" the
Dance Competition at the 83rd Annual Crow Fair

Skydancer
TV and
HPG Sports
produced this program about one of the largest Native American dance
competitions. Randy Martin directed and we used the Panasonic Varicam
24P HD camera. We shot scenics with individual dancers in locations
around the Crow Reservation in
southeast Montana.
Panasonic's
24P
camera actually
does frame rates from 4fps to 60 fps. We were able to get a pleasing
combination of high resolution and the right amount of motion blur.
These frame grabs are at one fourth
the resolution of the original video.
Hundreds
of dancers
from all
over North America competed in an arena close to the site of the Battle
of the Little Bighorn. Lighting was designed by Jerry Mundy, a gaffer
working
out of Bozeman and Los Angeles.

Jack Morton
Productions hired Ken Mandel Films to produce this show for
the Web-cast rollout of
JD Edwards "One World XE" software. Ken hired Annie Biggs, producer;
John Johns, effects/sound;
and myself as DP to come up with this footage in Rio de Janero and
Mexico City. In these scenes,
people around the world look up in anticipation of the benefits of
supply chain management software. |

The
Old Bedford
School
Historical Video
 |
 |
| In 1915, a small community of Texas
farming families valued education
enough to tax themselves and build this brick schoolhouse. For over 50
years, their children were educated
here, and now the building is restored as a community center, The Old
Bedford School.
I was fortunate to be
involved, along with Andrew Flood of AF Video, in a video project to
document the
history of the school and the community.
The school is beautifully
restored, and is now in the center of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD,
with over 20,000 students, and the video is seen by thousands of
schoolkids each year as
an intro to their tour of the school.

Randy Martin, a writer and
director in Dallas, directed this video of
Jeff Lorber playing a Beatles tune, "Dear Prudence." DP--35MM. |
| Lowery Perry, who lights and operates most of David
Frost's interviews,
had a conflict and was nice enough to refer me for this job, in which
David Frost interviewed Pat Choate, who was Ross Perot's running mate
in 1996. I used small Chimeras and long boom poles to put the keylights
out in the right places. Gaffer/operator--Betacam |

Lee Martin
Productions hired me to light this exercise video for
"Yogarobics," the ultimate in no-impact aerobics. I hung lots of lights
and used the dimmer board to create a serene, yet intense, mood.
